Jelenov Žleb (; (ドイツ語:Mathildensruhe)〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 48.〕) is a small remote settlement in the hills south of Ribnica in southern Slovenia. It no longer has any permanent residents, but is used seasonally by local forest workers. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Ribnica municipal site )〕 ==Mass grave== Jelenov Žleb is the site of a mass grave from the Second World War. The Jelenov Žleb Shaft Mass Grave ((スロベニア語:Grobišče Brezno v Jelenovem Žlebu)) is located southwest of the settlement, along the road to Glažuta. It contains the remains of a number of Italian soldiers killed in an engagement with the Partisans in the spring of 1943.〔(Jelenov Žleb Shaft Mass Grave on Geopedia ) 〕
